MyDebates.org: MySpace Gets Political

MySpace today announced that it will work together with the Commission for Presidential Debates (CPD) to broadcast the upcoming presidential debates in the U.S. live on the social networking site. MySpace and the CPD also created MyDebates.org, where users can learn more about the issues and candidates through various quizzes and videos.
Maybe the most interesting feature of the site, however, is that it (anonymously) collects all the data from users who take the "issue quizzes" and then displays those in a well designed set of statistics.

On the popular social networking site MySpace.com, you can find pictures of almost anything, including violence and nudity. But WAVE 3's Scott Harvey reports that one Indiana family is outraged after the pictures they posted, in memory of their son, were said to be too offensive and deleted. WAVE 3 now wants them to have a place to tell their story.
Legislation to ban kids' access to myspace.com and facebook.com in public libraries is picking up steam in Congress. If passed, libraries that allow that access could be stripped of Federal funding. The bill is called D.O.P.A. The Delete Online Predators Act. It was introduced Federal law required all libraries to filter out pornographic websites in computers that kids could access.
Channel Five has struck a deal with MySpace to launch a youth-focused version of Five News with Natasha Kaplinsky.
