(added last year!)

A Myspace.com user did not expect to have Bay County Sheriff's Office deputies show up at his house to check on his welfare because of something he posted on the social networking site.

Deputies responded at 8 p.m. Monday to the man's home in reference to a possible suicide threat which was called in by Panama City Beach Police Department after they received a tip from the "Myspace Police." According to an incident report, the man had been flagged after posting he was "tired of this world."

The responding deputy reported the man did not appear suicidal and told the deputy he had no intention of harming himself. He said the post was "misconstued by whomever read it."

Panama City Beach Police Chief Robert Harding said he did not know who the "Myspace Police" were, or how the information came to his agency, but he was trying to gather more information about the call.
