Myspace’s new music player has unmatched access to signed and unsigned artists who need a platform to get their music out, according to Chris Vanderhook, the company’s COO, writes Maria Stadtmueller.
“The new player is our commitment to fostering the artist-fan connection – not only allowing people to play their favorite songs, but also offering suggestions to unearth new favourites. Through the Facebook integration, we’re extending the discovery process across networks, allowing music fans to circulate their playlists and recommend top picks to all their friends.”
During Myspace beta testing, the recent player enhancements drove consumer engagement beyond the one-hour mark to over 20 songs and resulted in a 10% lift in the average number of music streams per person. The Myspace music player is available both online and on mobile devices, allowing people to access their favourite music anytime, without ad interruptions and subscription fees.
