The deal was hatched with ShineReveille International, a division of London-based The Shine Group. The Shine Group is headed by Elizabeth Murdoch, daughter to MySpace and News Corp. chief, Rupert Murdoch.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal lets MySpaceTV content to be syndicated internationally, providing monetization through distribution on television, through DVD sales and through merchandise.

ShineReveille has the exclusive rights to the worldwide distribution of content, while MySpace retains rights to U.S. distribution, as well as international Web and mobile distribution rights.

The partnership was officially announced at the MIPTV conference in Cannes, France.

“MySpace provides the creative community with a launch pad to virally test and distribute content to the world’s largest focus group,” Travis Katz, Managing Director of International for MySpace, said in a news release. “MySpaceTV has quickly become Hollywood’s digital playground and our relationship with ShineReveille opens up the globe to MySpace’s international content creators.”

The Shine Group distributes a variety of programming from independent producers and U.S. networks to more than 150 territories around the globe.

“MySpaceTV is a proven fertile ground for emerging creative approaches and techniques; this deal gives their content the opportunity to transfer directly to traditional platforms,” Alex Mahon, Shine Group President, said.

ShineReveille International President Chris Grant added, “There is an appetite to create versions of successful online content that can work for the traditional television platform, as MySpace have already demonstrated. This partnership allows this to be taken to the next level.”

MySpace content has been used on network television before; during the writers strike this past winter, NBC briefly picked up a MySpace production called "Quarterlife." Other shows include "Roommates" and "Special Delivery."
