(added few years ago!)

Another week with a sad good-bye and rejoicing at a birth!  It's the way of life!  Also, some simple little tidbits that come my way.  The bigger though is the ACTORS' STRIKE which is looming.  Will it be another found of the networks chasing their tails!  Only time will tell!

OBITS
For those of you who love the musical “Singing in the Rain” like I do, I have sad news for you.  The lovely lady who shared the memorable dream dance sequence with Gene Kelly passed away this week.  Cyd Charisee died Tuesday at the age of 86.  She started as a ballet dancer for MGM and never really received the credit she deserved.

ACTORS' STRIKE
Okay folks!  Sit back and wait!  There’s another strike looming in the wings  Once they settled with the writer’s, the powers that be had to turn their attention to the actors with the hopes that the strike could be stopped.  Unfortunately, it hasn’t and their contract expires on June 30th and as of now there has been NO DEAL.  While AFTRA has accepted an agreement, SAG (the major actor’s guild) hasn’t.  SAG is after AFTRA to stick with them.  Contract negotiations have stalled which means that production on shows could case on July 1st.  Better be glad that some have already started production!  It could look grim again.

Here’s a run down from TVGuide.com of how the different areas stands.
Network shows by and large have gone back to production and will have a few episodes ready for this fall.
Cable series probably cut production back or delay the start date.
AFTRA-0nly shows would begin production and have no stoppage.
Late night television need more  non-actor guests

More specifically VARIETY online tells us the following shows are in production and will have episodes ready for fall:
HEROS, BONES, DIRTY SEXY MONEY, CSI, WITHOUT A TRACE, COLD CASE, HOUSE, ER, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, CHUCK, LAW & ORDER, TWO AND A HALF MEN, THE BIG BANG THEORY, and 24.

BRITNEY IS AT IT AGAIN . . .
Recording an album that is.  Jim Beanz, her vocal producer and co-writer, Jim Beanz tells USmagazine.com that the album will be fantastic!

Lynne Spears has asked a judge to throw out of court Brit’s charge of driving without a license.  No response from the court yet though!

Britney will also be moving out of Hollywood Hills to a new home nearer Kevin Federline’s home so she can be closer to the kids.  Judge Reva Goetz granted permission for the sell of the house!

JAMIE THE MOM!
Jamie Spears gave birth this week to  a daughter, Maddie, on Thursday in Louisiana. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces. Britney flew home to be with her sister during the birth.

Ali Spears tells USmagazine that Jamie will be a good mother.  So Alli is now working for Jamie?

On and the supermarket rags are Jamie and Casey are already wed with Jamie’s sister or parent’s attending the ceremony!  More as I can find the truth on this.

WEDDING NEWS
Sara Evans married Jay Barker last weekend in Tennessee.  I wish Sara, Jay, and their family much joy and happiness.

CRIME/COURT/PUNISHMENT
Naomi Campbell is in the news AGAIN for unlawful acts.  She pleaded guilty on Friday to assaulting police officers at London’s Heathrow Airport.  She could spend up to 6 months in jail!  USmagazine.com reports that she has also been banned from British Airways.  Ah, that’s rough.  I hear that’s a first class way to fly – even couch!

QUICK BITS
From Britain:  Prince William became a Knight of the Order of the Garter with his girlfriend, Kate Middleton, watching.  Yes, Camilla was there but Kate and Harry stood together as William paraded pass.

And another British royal got in trouble.  Princess Eugenia, the daughter of Andrew and Sarah, was caught in the nude at her boarding school and had her “wrist slapped.”  She had visited a pub.  Oh, well, another royal to watch.

USmagazine reports that the number one villain on Reality Television is:  Omarosa.  She beat out Jonathan Baker, Jonny Fairplay for the top honor.  And BB fans, Evil Dick didn’t even make the list!

Tom Hanks and Ron Howard are not feeling the love in Rome.  They’ve been banned from filming in wo churches in that city for the movie “Angels and Demons.”

Katie Holmes will open on Broadway on October 16.  Of course, this wasn’t good news for Mario Lopez whose stint in “A Chorus Line” suffered from cancellation.  Since the producers of Holmes’ play had to have a larger theater because of her salary, they have taken over the Schoefeld Theater (home of “A Chorus Line”) TVGUIDE.com reports.

And Lindsey Lohan, like Katherine Heigl, has taken her name out of Emmy consideration.
