The two most popular social community sites are Facebook and Myspace. Even though Myspace and Facebook both launched at about the same time, Myspace noticeably became more popular than Facebook. Myspace launched to everyone while Facebook only launched to the universities that requested it. Both social networks offer a wide range of applications, from free concerts to addictive games.
The positive things about both of these sites are that on Myspace you can edit your profile to look a certain way to fit your profile. Facebook, on the other hand, loads fast and is easy to navigate. The negative things about them are Myspace is said to have too many ads and viruses whereas complaints are heard about Facebook concerning personal profile layouts.
The majority of people asked say that Myspace is for immature people while Facebook is for more adult-like people. Junior Troy Loftin and senior Brenden Smith both agree that Myspace is dead; it is the Jr. High of Facebook. This statement may be true because Facebook now has many more active user accounts than MySpace.
Even though the majority of BHS students say that they favor Facebook over MYspace, it is always good to have a choice. And the best thing is that both social networking sites offer friendly online social connections.
